Hosted by Alan Cumming, the event saw Public Interest Registry recognize the seven award winners, celebrating organizations from the global .ORG community. The categories included Community Building, Quality Education for All, Environmental Stewardship, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Health and Healing, Hunger and Poverty, and Rising Stars (leaders under 25 making a significant impact in their communities).

Kiva was proud to join other awardees such as Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation and Share Our Spare, who were also recognized for their efforts to address critical global challenges.

"These organizations are proof of how the Internet can be used as a force for good—allowing them to share their mission with the world, connect with others, and expand their reach. That's what we're celebrating tonight—the power of this global community, united by a shared desire to create a better world," said Cumming while hosting the awards.

A global mission with local impact

Since its founding in 2005, Kiva has been a leader in financial inclusion, facilitating over $2.3 billion in loans through crowdfunding to support people in over 70 countries. This international recognition underscores the global reach of Kiva’s efforts, as well as the local impact the organization creates through its partnerships with microfinance institutions and social enterprises.

Winning the Community Building Award serves as a strong affirmation of Kiva's ongoing efforts to break down barriers to financial access. It reflects the reality that financial inclusion is achievable, and Kiva is helping to make it accessible to millions of people worldwide.

The award is also a powerful reminder of the impact that Kiva and its partners are collectively making, and it reinforces the organization’s commitment to ensuring that everyone has the financial resources they need to improve their lives.

A collective effort

Kiva’s recognition would not be possible without the global community of lenders, borrowers, and partners who support its mission. Each loan, partnership, and life changed is a testament to the collective impact of the Kiva community.

As Kiva celebrates this achievement, the organization remains focused on the future, committed to its mission of expanding financial access and creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to improve their lives.
