We do this by crowdfunding loans, unlocking capital, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world. With Kiva, a small amount of money makes a big difference in someone's life.

Kiva lends 100% of your Monthly Good funds to borrowers you’re interested in. We find loans that match either your lending history or your selected category. Normally lend to farmers in Latin America? Students in Rwanda? Entrepreneurs in the Philippines? Monthly Good has you covered!

If you’re a first-time lender or you decided to support all borrowers, Monthly Good will find any borrower who is close to their funding goal and needs your help.

Yes. Each month, you will receive an email from Kiva with a choice of three borrowers hand-picked for you. You can select a borrower from that email, and then you'll receive a Monthly Good Digest confirming the details of who you supported that month.

If you don't select a borrower, we'll choose for you based on your preferences and email you the details through the Monthly Good Digest.

Yes. Your Monthly Good subscription can be canceled or edited at any time. To do so, go to your subscription settings.

If you decide to cancel your Monthly Good, you have a few options:

  • You can use the money in your account to continue lending to borrowers you select manually.

  • You can sign up for auto lending, which allows you to continue automatically lending your money without adding new deposits automatically.

  • You can withdraw any money that has been repaid, or donate your money to Kiva as it’s repaid by the borrowers you supported.

As borrowers repay their loans, your money will automatically be relent to other entrepreneurs, multiplying your impact.

At this time we only offer contributions on a monthly basis. If you’re interested in being alerted when we launch other options, please email contactus@kiva.org and let us know.

If you want to sign up for a recurring contribution to Kiva, but still want to choose who you support, consider signing up for auto deposit. With an auto deposit, you can make a monthly contribution into your Kiva account in any amount you wish. Once the credit is deposited into your account, you can sign in to lend it to the borrowers you choose. To learn more: kiva.org/auto-deposit
