Earlier this May, Andre Haddad joined the Kiva board of directors. Andre is the CEO of leading peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace, Turo, and was previously CEO of Shopping.com before its $600m acquisition from eBay in 2005.
A Kiva lender since 2006, Andre is a long-time supporter of the crowd-funding loan platform and its mission to empower entrepreneurs around the world to change lives and communities. Andre will leverage his 20 years of experience building marketplaces to help Kiva create delightful consumer experiences and grow its consumer base.
“I am incredibly excited to support the Kiva team with their mission and grow the organization’s impact,” Haddad said. “I have been amazed by the lasting positive effects my own lending activity on Kiva has had on so many people over the past 14 years and I look forward to helping Kiva scale its efforts."
Neville Crawley, Kiva's CEO, welcomed Haddad's appointment. “We are incredibly excited to welcome Andre onto the Kiva board,” Crawley said. “His experience scaling marketplaces will support Kiva’s ongoing expansion to provide financial access and help underserved communities and female entrepreneurs thrive.”
Andre will join five others on the board, which include Kiva Executive Chair Julie Hanna; LinkedIn Co-Founder Reid Hoffman; Facebook’s Associate General Counsel, John Muller; Kiva's CEO, Neville Crawley; and Senior Partner at The Rise Fund, Maya Chorengel.
