Nueva Italia Poty Group's story
Syntia, an entrepreneur, is a member of lending group Nueva Italia Poty. She has a small grocery shop and also sells cosmetics and clothes, two types of products she chose because they turn a nice profit. Having a shop means she can work and still be with her family of six. This shop is her sole source of income and she works flexible hours. She started it with her first loan and has been growing it since then. It has become a stable source of income.
Syntia harbours big plans for the future: she wants to have a house of her own, support her son through university and make more money to invest in her business. She hopes to keep her shop growing thanks to her efforts and dedication, in order to improve her financial stability and build a better future for her family.
This loan will be used to buy flour, sugar, corn, mate leaves and bread products to restock her grocery shop.
Other members of the group sell crafts, cosmetics, have a grocery shop, a greengrocer's, or a small restaurant, among others.
(Syntia is alone in the picture because not everybody was able to attend the meeting due to severe weather.)
