Marvis's story
Mavis is a single mother who works tirelessly to provide for her family, including a child with special needs. Living in Florida with hurricanes and tornados, she needs to replace roof because hers has not been replaced in over 15 years.
Mavis has had several hardships over the past few years which has made getting a new roof unattainable. Marvis endured an injury which required surgery and she was out of work for several months. In addition to this setback, her mother passed unexpectedly and her sister passed within a year of that.
With all these hardships, Marvis depleted many of her resources. Marvis is hoping that SELF and Kiva will offer her an affordable option to replace her roof which will give her peace of mind of having a safe and healthy home.
