A loan of $15,000 helps a coffee shop upgrade its espresso machine, install a drive thru cover, buy a storage fridge and supplies.

Peter & Jordan's story
Hello, we are Peter and Jordan. Our journey to owning a coffee shop has been an interesting and wonderful testament to our Christian faith. I was born in a German Mennonite community in Mexico and was raised in Kansas. My wife Jordan is originally from Southern California. Her career in graphic design and my work as a millwright both led us to Oregon, where we met and married.
Four years ago, my job brought our young family to Texas. Both of our skill sets lend themselves to attention to detail and putting things together in a functional, efficient and beautiful way. We have always dreamed of having a small business, and as our family started to grow, we began looking around for something that appealed to us.
We settled on an idea surrounding something we love to drink pretty much every single day—coffee. We noticed that in our new home of Cleveland, Texas, there was not a place to get high quality coffee. For three years, we did our research, developed knowledge and skills and worked on ways to open a coffee shop. Our original goal was to convert a trailer into a mobile coffee shop for events, but at each step the idea kept evolving. A new building was finished locally and when we called to check its availability, one thing led to another. We prayed about it, and we came to the conclusion that it would be best to serve our immediate community first rather than going mobile. We ended up committing fully and rented a suite to have a physical location.
In addition to serving high quality espresso drinks, we wish to be a light in our community by glorifying God in all we do. We love seeing people first thing in the morning and enjoy getting to know them while their drink is being prepared. We are both the type to do things the best we can, so we are striving to create the best coffee shop in our city.
