Martin's story

I am a proud resident of the South Side of Chicago and have spent the past decade working at the intersection of social justice, housing, and mental health. After earning my Master's in Social Work from the University of Chicago, I dedicated myself to helping youth and families navigate systems that weren’t designed for them. I’ve worked in affordable housing, for a U.S. Senator, individual and family therapy, and as a community organizer, but I kept seeing the same need: trauma-informed, culturally competent care that understands the realities of Black and Brown families.

I started Anda Therapy Group because I believe healing shouldn’t depend on income, insurance status, or zip code. We provide therapy for Medicaid clients, private pay, and commercial insurance users, meeting people where they are, both virtually and in-person. We're also building a tech platform, AndaAI, to expand access and improve care through automation and data.

This loan would help us get fully credentialed with Illinois insurers and create a powerful outreach video so we can start serving more families today, not months from now. I believe mental health care can be accessible, dignified, and community-rooted. That’s why I’m building Anda, and why your support means so much.
