FRANK, KIVA lender and Legacy Gift DONOR
FRANK, KIVA lender and Legacy Gift DONOR

“Frank recognized that Kiva was a unique mechanism to support those with the desire to manage their own futures.”

— Jude, Frank’s sister

As a lifelong artist, seeker, and lover of humanity — Frank saw beauty in human connection. After years as a loyal Kiva lender, Frank chose to include Kiva in his estate plans, creating a legacy of connection that will support financial equality for future generations. “Although Frank often made gifts to those in need, he understood that it is always better to teach a man to fish. The Kiva model supports this.”

How Kiva uses donations

As a nonprofit, we rely on gifts to cover the important work we do every day and enable us to innovate and expand our programs. We work closely with local partners to ensure every dollar advances our mission to support communities with the most need for financial equity, focusing on refugees and displaced people, women, people impacted by climate change, and systemically marginalized U.S. communities.

Your gift is vital to expanding financial access in communities worldwide.

A gift of $75,000 can enable us to launch a Kiva U.S. hub in a new city.

Kiva partners with existing organizations around the U.S. that provide support to local entrepreneurs. By launching a Kiva Hub partnership, these orgs help Kiva expand financial access and funding to their network of small businesses. Since the Startup Junkie hub opened in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2020, we’ve been able to serve over 100 new borrowers, providing almost $1M in 0% interest capital for local small-business owners. Kaleidescope Counseling worked with this hub to receive a $4,000 Kiva loan, helping them expand their business and provide essential youth counseling services.
